Mr. Liptak has moral/spiritual/ethical problems with the holiday.
I grew up with the holiday and had no great for/against feelings for it.
Our campground has themed weekends and this weeks was Halloween.
So, we talked Shawn into letting us participate.
(I have to interject here that it was quite easy to do. I think he's getting soft in his advance age!)
Yea for us.
So, Keyanna right away wanted to be Hannah Montana.
Nathan didn't really care.
I went to Wal-Mart (the night before) and decided that whatever I find is who they'll be.
I found Nathan the cutest skeleton outfit, brought it home and the next morning (the day we're leaving) he, I kid you not, got tears in his eyes and said that the costume was too scary.
What?!?
This is the kid who watches way too scary movies and plays way too scary video games.
More on that later -- Mr. Liptak; no Halloween but gory video games -- bring them on?!?
So, on the way to the campground we stop off at another Wal-Mart and purchase Nathan a more respectable Iron Man costume.
The weekend was pretty cool.
There was a "spooky story" reading on the back lawn under the trees.
Then, of course, the pinnacle of Halloween.Candy.
The kids went from site to site in these incredibly hot costumes.
Did I mention it was 90 degrees?

In the evening we went on a Spooky ride threw the woods.
It was pretty funny how scared you can get having fake characters jump out at you!
There was one guy with a chainsaw (minus the chain) that came right up to the wagon and tried to saw us to death. All little kids were ready to get off the wagon at that point.
Emmie slept with me that night because I'm in the only room without opening windows.
Freaked them out!

Did I mention it was hot?
All day Sunday the kids got to swim in the pond. I kept thinking, "Wow, I can't believe how hot it is for October." Then remembered it's only September.

Wanna hear the best part of the week-end?
Cindy's cafe was having a sale -- Hot dog baskets -- $1.50.
Hot dog, fries, drink.
Whoo Hoo.
Normally we can't afford the place. Normally one hot dog is $3.24.
Just the hot dog.
